If ye have faith as a grain of this seed…

An author who finds difficulty at titling his work will sometimes find a unique phrase out of the book and use it for the title (one does not title a book and then write it, or do they?). The title is paraphrased to make you think, by purposefully disclosing the object (which in itself, should be famaliar).

I had no idea that this was what that plant was. Certainly not until my dear Aunty Linda used that exact phrase to describe it. I had previously never seen this plant. Well, at least now I have the knowledge that the roots of this plant are edible :)

Strangely though, these plants are popping up all around in fields around us. Perhaps it is God's simple way of telling us to have faith for the times that will be before us? Since I have never seen these any other year, I take it to mean that.

The May flowers are in abundance along the creeks and through the swamps. (April showers bring May flowers… whoops. This is April and we already have the May flowers!) The May apples are poisonous though, so don't ever try eating of them. Here's a shot of the bloom of a May apple that I took this evening:

Not this past weekend, but the weekend before last, we took an entire day and moved the several ton coal pile out of the barnyard, by tractors, to behind our house out in the woods aways. Surprisingly, Lacy didn't take any pictures whatsoever of us hauling it all, but instead took pictures of mice… Regardless, here is a picture of where the coal pile now sets, and a picture of me that you may have seen that I posted on twitter. (I was dog tired).

I was completely filthy from all the coal dust and carrying bags. My arms, my hands, my gloves, and yes, even my face was black from all the coal dust. The picture shows that I was hot, thirsty and tired. You should get the picture…

I went back out to the creek the other day to get some pictures after it had rained. The creek was up severely (which made it intensely difficult to cross, without wading in up to your knees). I had the camera with me of course, but did not have the chance to take any pictures of the animals that I saw (mostly because they saw me before I saw them). I heard two hoot owls, saw three deer, two hawks and one big, blue water turkey (otherwise known as a crane).

I'm not much of an action photographer. Instead I take pictures of things that rarely move (if ever) and get "in your face" (macro) type shots :) If the object moves, I probably won't have enough time to get a picture, and if I do, it most likely won't turn out anyways, so why bother?

Yesterday, Dad and I moved that three-year-old-beam (that supported our telephone pole (misnomer) while we were moving our house), down to the pond in the the barnyard to make like a walk across it. It was actually long enough to reach across it, so that is it's new home for now. :)

I called Joshua Lambert last week (I can't remember what day, or I would tell you) for the first time. It was a rather interesting experience (for both parties, I imagine) with us both being geeks and each pronouncing things differently! I was trying to help him get some wireless drivers complied on ArchLinux but I think we spent most of the time just trying to reinstall it :) I had a great time talking to him, even if it ran my mouth dry after the conversation!!

Ah yes. One last picture that I almost forgot to include before I published this. A macro shot of a clover head which would make a nice wallpaper.
